Graduating to the Next Chapter

May 13, 20261 min read

There’s something about graduation season that makes us reflect on growth. Not just the big milestones, but the quieter moments where we realize we’ve changed. As a business owner, I’ve discovered that every few years my business “graduates” into a new chapter and each chapter asks something different of me.

When I first started Bambooshoot, I thought growth meant doing more. More services, more networking, more hustle, more proving myself. But over time, I realized growth is also about refining. It’s learning what enhances your work and what drains it. One season taught me the value of bringing on a VA for support. Another season introduced me to AI and how it could help me organize ideas, create structure, and save time. I learned that accountants, systems, and collaboration are not signs of weakness they are signs of sustainability.

I’ve also had to learn what to let go of. Not every thing needs my energy. Not every opportunity fits my mission. And not every burden needs to be carried alone. One of the biggest shifts has been recognizing the power of collaboration, especially with other women leaders and entrepreneurs. Through communities like Women on the Rise and partnerships with other businesswomen, I’ve realized that sharing the load creates more room for creativity, peace, and impact.

Graduating to the next chapter isn’t about becoming someone entirely new. It’s about becoming more aligned with who you already are. Sometimes growth means adding tools. Sometimes it means removing noise. And sometimes it simply means trusting yourself enough to evolve.

So this May, I encourage you to ask yourself:
What are you ready to graduate from?
And what chapter are you ready to grow into?
