Losing and Rebuilding: The Scary Side of Growth
Doing something scary isn’t always riding a wave or speaking on stage it’s sometimes waking up to loss and deciding to keep going.
Not too long ago, I lost a major contract. It felt like the ground disappeared beneath me. My work, my identity, my security it was all wrapped up in that partnership. For a moment, I wondered if I could rebuild, if I had the energy to start over.
But here’s the truth: sometimes the scariest moments create the biggest breakthroughs. Losing that contract forced me to return to my roots. I had to trust the process of building again, client by client, conversation by conversation. I leaned on my faith, my training, my virtual assistant, and my community. And slowly, I remembered that my worth was never tied to one contract it was in the impact I bring, the people I serve, and the difference I make.
If you’re facing something scary right now, whether it’s in work, health, or life remember this: fear is not the end. It’s an invitation to grow, to pivot, and to rebuild stronger than before.
On a lighter note - I love dressing up for Halloween and having Halloween parties. One day - we will get back to having our home and hosting parties again. What's your suggestion for our next costume?
